RECORD BREAKING NUMBERS FOR JUNIOR PARTICIPATION
With Junior State Cup (JSC) quickly approaching, we are excited to host Queensland Touch Football’s (QTF) flagship junior event at Redlands from 4-6 July 2024, in a partnership with Redland City Council. JSC provides the opportunity for junior touch football players to represent their affiliate in a fun, enjoyable and unforgettable experience. Our vision is to develop a love of touch football for life!
The junior representative season across Queensland is well underway with our many junior carnivals attracting records team numbers. In April, Junior State Cup North in Townsville welcomed a record-breaking 103 teams, and Gold Coast Junior Cup a record-breaking 121 teams.
In May, Twisters Cup hosted 100+ teams in the chill of Toowoomba and Redland’s Arthur Davis Memorial Cup attracted a record-breaking 159 teams, not bad for a one-day carnival! And we still have plenty more junior carnivals to come before we hit the ground running at JSC.
QTF CEO Greg Denny noted that the excitement is palpable as Queensland prepares for its flagship junior touch football event, the 2024 Junior State Cup, “This is first time that JSC will be hosted in South-East Queensland in the 25+ history of the event, and in heart of one of the largest touch football communities in the state.
This year’s JSC event is set to break all previous records, with 268 teams nominated from 29 affiliates across Queensland. The event promises to bring together more teams, players, coaches, and referees and play more games than ever before, highlighting the growing enthusiasm and love for touch football!”
